JIM WALLACE

Harmonicas and trains have been a part of blues tradition since that first locomotive roared past a sharecropper's shack. The tradition is carried on with this Cool Buzz release by Jim Wallace entitled "Rush To Hell".

Jim Wallace, harmonica player and singer from the well known blues scene of Portland, Oregon (USA) has a unique style influenced by the harmonica greats Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson II and Jim's long time friend the late William Clarke. Harmonica Blues fans from throughout the west coast have been thrilled by live performances from his band which often features drummer Jimi Bott (Mighty Flyers/T-Birds/James Harman) and guitarist Joel Foy (James Harman/Sreamin' Jay Hawkins). His dynamic front man capabilities have won him numerous "Muddy Awards" from The Cascade Blues Association in Portland.

"Rush To Hell" Jim's first solo CD contains a superb blend of Jim's original songs plus two songs written by producer/drummer Boyd Small and three obscure classics "Pet Cream Man" by J.B. Hutto, "Would You Baby by Junior Walker and"You May" by Jody Williams. It also features a scorching harmonica duet with well know Dutch harmonica player Kim Snelten. Beginning from the opening riff of "Cold Blue Steel" to the smooth sweet horn accompaniment in the final cut "You May" the listener is carried on a journey that will satisfy even the most scrutinizing music buff.
